Celina (Suh-line-uh)

The JCB is rocking in Celina (north of Frisco, which is north of Dallas) this weekend for a D-Now. We rocked what we call a "tease-rock" set of 3 songs, which is just enough time to get warmed up and into the rock groove, only to be denied the true musical fulfillment that comes with playing a full set. It was good stuff, though. The people of FBC Celina seem really awesome. I was reminded tonight of what a blessing it is to get to do what we do. I am excited about what God has in store for us and for this church this weekend. Al and Brooke came to hang with us and we went to Rudy's afterward. Is there really any better bar-b-que than Rudy's? You can't really beat Rudy's sauce in my opinion. I love my brother. I cherish any opportunities that we have to spend time with each other. I think I laugh the most when I'm around him.

I got some good stuff done on the studio this week. Curtains are up and...well...curtaining I guess. Josh came over yesterday and helped me put a light fixture in. I cleaned up the joint the cleanest it has been yet. It is awesome having that space to play and work (in that order, of course).

COM group was really great last night. We're going to try to start implementing some new ideas of delegation and time constraints, which I think will help us be more intentional and focused. I am looking forward to what God is going to do through our group. I still feel like we have a ways to go before we are a church, but I feel like we are on our way. I think the first step is defining the word 'Church.' Lindsay Cofield posted a definition on Facebook awhile back which I liked. He said that church is:

"A group of Christ-followers who fully function, believe, and understand themselves to be the Body-of-Christ for their relationship sphere."

Good stuff.

Now to Leno. Rumor has it that Mute Math will be playing on the show tonight.
